The Morven Project Week Coordinator will report to the Director of Teaching, Learning and Innovation and is responsible for oversight of the Grade 9 Project Week Program and owns the pre-planning, communication, execution and debrief of Grade 9 project week. The coordinator is also committed to teaching their own Project Week class (industry or STEM) during project week.
**Responsibilities**:
- Communicate and explain project week to faculty and parents
- Identify Project Week teachers and designate teachers into teams for program delivery
- Coordinate professional development and pre-meetings for Project week teams
- Communicate program goals, schedules or and with students and families prior to the program
- Manage student survey and assign students into one of two programs; work with students who wish to make changes
- Create 6 classroom groups, working in consultation with Grade 9 teachers
- Create teams for each classroom to ensure skill balance working in consultation with Grade 9 teachers
- Assist in organizing coverage for teachers involved in Project Week
- Work with the PHE team to schedule PHE classes for the Grade 9’s
- Oversee completion of report cards
- Prepare and deliver the project week program as a classroom teacher
- Organize industry professionals to judge final presentations
- Create Google meets or other tools/schedules to allow parent viewing of presentations and projects
- Gather feedback from the students and the teaching teams, reflect and set goals for the following year
- Ensure that there are adequate stores of inventory for STEM project and order necessary components
