**The Purpose**

Under the direction of the Fabrication Shop Manager, the Fabrication Shop Lead provides leadership, coaching, and clear direction to ensure people are working safely, solving problems, eliminating waste, and meeting goals when the Fabrication Shop Foreman is not present.

**Areas of Accountability**
- Assist in directing staff - communicate job expectations, enforcing systems, policies & procedures, etc.
- Assist with maintaining inventory & stock levels to ensure the appropriate supply coincides with project schedules
- Review and manage material/supply backorders
- Manage the accurate shipping & receiving of materials
- Facilitate the transportation of materials in collaboration with field staff to ensure timely delivery.
- Provide pipe/fitting lists to Purchaser with reasonable lead time to receive quotes, and meet deadlines.
- Regularly evaluate various areas of the shop to ensure optimum efficiency, productivity and outputs
- Assess and suggest improvements for equipment, processes and materials
- Conduct quality control inspections on all work being completed by the shop
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment
- Implement and enforce EFP policies and procedures
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures set by Escape Fire Protection.
- Maintain and operate equipment in a way that does not compromise safety.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Interactions**
- Reports to the Fabrication Shop Manager
- Oversees a team in the Fabrication Shop
- Communicates with office staff for administrative support

**The Person**

**Skills, Knowledge & Certifications**
- Adheres to EFP’s Quality Control Manual and procedures
- Must be able to provide (and follow) work instructions with attention to detail.
- Has the ability to use hand and power tools in a proper and safe manner.

**Physical Demands**
- Ability to comfortably lift 50lbs
- Comfortable standing and moving for extended periods of time
- Bending, lifting, pushing, crouching

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to $35.00 per hour
