HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who are resourceful and innovative educators, providing student support to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.

We are looking for an Education Assistant to work on-site one day a week in our **Chilliwack**Community Connection class for the **2025/26 school year.**Additional hours supporting students in their family homes may be available.

**Tuesdays**: 9:15 am - 2:45 pm
- Grades K/1

Specific training for working with students with diverse abilities, such as an Education Assistant certificate (or equivalent), is preferred

**Responsibilities**

As an Education Assistant, your duties and responsibilities will include:

- Supporting executive functioning and self-regulation
- Supporting academics (i.e., Science, Social Studies, and Art)
- Working collaboratively within the classroom
- Contributing to the social, spiritual, and academic learning needs of students, providing mentorship to the whole person
- Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team

- Emotional intelligence, and strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of ASD and other diverse abilities
- Proficient with Zoom, Google Workspace and other technology
- A valid Class 5 driver's license

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $23.97-$28.13 per hour

Expected hours: 7 - 15 per week
