Acclaim Health is hiring a casual Personal Support Worker to work in the Oakville Community. We are currently looking for a PSW who can work the following hours: Mondays 7:00am-1:00pm, Tuesdays 7:00am-9:00am and Fridays 11:00am - 5:30pm.

**PRIMARY FUNCTIONS**:

- Provides homemaking and personal support services to individuals and families in the community and retirement home settings.
- Assist clients with their personal care and activities of daily living to clients, including bathing; grooming; dressing; mouth care; and checking skin integrity.
- Collaborates with members of the health care team, the homemaking and personal support services team and family in decision-making regarding planning.
- Provides bedside care in retirement homes as directed by the Nurse or otherwise directed by Supervisor.
- Assist with the maintenance of catheter and colostomy bags when required.
- Performs light housekeeping, including cleaning of clients personal laundry and bedding when required as part of the care plan.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Personal Support Worker Certificate or Diploma
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and insurance
- Current CPR certificate
- Current TB test
- Palliative Experience is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
- Ability to use mechanical equipment (hoyer lifts) when required
- Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective observation and listening skills
