As a
**Housekeeper,** you will perform assigned Housekeeping duties as directed by the Facility Department Coordinator, assuring a clean, safe, inviting environment for the residents of Shepherd Village; the safety and well-being of our residents, visitors and staff is of paramount importance in any task performed by members of the department. To ensure residents receive excellent care and services. You will do this by increasing their comfort, independence and control in their lives and their involvement in all decisions. You will support their families and the community's involvement in their lives.
**QUALIFICATIONS & DUTIES**
- Experience with housekeeping procedures and equipment.
- Intermediate knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS and the model of care.
- Proficient in communicating to residents, visitors and Use of phone and other communication devices.
- Good written and excellent interpersonal, oral and customer service skills orientated toward the needs and challenges of the mature adult and their families, Shepherd Village staff and other clients.
- Able to work on own initiative with mínimal intervention.
- Able to independently prioritise work responsibilities while maintaining a high degree of efficiency.
- Cooperative and flexible team player, able to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Exercise confidentiality in all matters pertaining to the Organization.
- Keep residents comfortable, independent and in control of their lives by providing a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain efficient and effective performance of all aspects of the Light Duty Housekeeping Aide position for Shepherd Village, maintaining amicable relations with residents, family members, other responsible parties and staff.
- Varied work areas and duties as assigned
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
