**Job Overview** The Maintenance Person is responsible for performing general maintenance work to ensure the hotel’s maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained, ensuring the smooth and profitable running of the property. _This is an on-call role that requires open availability and close proximity to the hotel in Barrie, Ontario._ Fairfield Inn & Suites Barrie is known for its comfortable accommodations and exceptional guest service, providing a welcoming and well-maintained environment for both guests and staff. **Duties** - Perform preventative maintenance and complete work orders (e.g., replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, patching vinyl) to maintain the hotel and keep product quality standards. - Check and make minor repairs/replacements on electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, and lighting systems. - Assist with routine repairs and support major repairs of hotel equipment, including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, boilers, pool equipment, HVAC, and general plumbing systems and fixtures. - Maintain and service the hotel’s pool, adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters; complete maintenance request forms and record logs. - Ensure exterior and "curb appeal" upkeep (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening). - Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms, including painting and finishing if needed. - Respond courteously to guest inquiries, complaints, and requests, ensuring guest satisfaction. - Dispose of garbage in line with property policy. - Maintain pool hygiene and follow health and safety regulations. - Test fire alarms, emergency lighting, etc., on a routine basis. - Adhere to attendance requirements and maintain regular availability. - Complete assigned checklists and report to general manager. - Perform other job-related duties as assigned. **Qualifications** - Minimum 2 years in hotel maintenance role. - Hotel experience is preferred. - College/university diploma from a recognized hospitality program is an asset. - Pool operating certification is a valuable asset. - _Must have open availability and live in close proximity to the hotel in Barrie, Ontario._ - Strong communication skills, including presenting insights and recommendations clearly and confidently. - Strong organizational, follow-up, and leadership skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office. - Ability to communicate in English. - Self-starting, with a professional appearance and demeanor. - Willing to assist co-workers and contribute to a team environment. - Ability to climb, stand, walk, and lift 25-50 lbs routinely. - Ability to follow instructions and communicate progress effectively. Pay: $23.00 per hour Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Monday to Friday - On call - Weekends as needed **Experience**: - Hotel Maintenance: 2 years (preferred) **Language**: - English (required) Licence/Certification: - Pool (preferred) - Drivers License and Car (required) Work Location: In person
