Nursery Assistant

Splitrock Environmental Sekw'el'was is and aboriginal owned business that specializes in environmental services, ecological restoration, ethnobotanical services, and propagation of native plants. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a passion for the environment, and who want to become part of a diverse business.

**Responsibilities**:
The Nursery Assistant will work under the nursery manger. Responsibilities include;
- Planting, watering and weeding in the nursery
- Vegetation management
- Community outreach
- Maintenance works at the spawning channel
- Assisting on various environmental projects

Qualifications:
Must be physically fit, this is a physical job
- A positive attitude, ability to be flexible, and someone who thrives on diversity in their job.
- Experience working with aboriginal communities, industry and non-profit organizations.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in interactive multi
- disciplinary team situation.
- Must be willing to work on weekend as shift will include working Saturday and Sunday.
- First Aid is a benefit however we will train if necessary
- Class 5 Driver’s License is strongly preferred
