**Organization Overview**
Our Client: Central West Specialized Developmental Services (CWSDS) is a leading-edge non-profit organization in the field of social services. The organization provides a wide range of residential and non-residential services for individuals with developmental disabilities and complex needs.
**PURPOSE OF POSITION**
The Communications Manager will play a crucial role in promoting the vision, mission, values and programs of CWSDS. This position is responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing and communication strategies to raise awareness, engage stakeholders, and support the wide range of community and supportive living services that enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Your ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, media, and the community is one of your strongest assets.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Internal and External Communications**:
- Prepare internal and external communications for approval by the CEO or designate.
- Crafting impactful speeches for the CEO and Chairman of the Board: Your ability to understand and articulate the organization’s mission, vision, and values will ensure that every speech resonates with the relevant audience groups. As such, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop compelling narratives that highlight the achievements, goals, and the importance of the work of CWSDS in the developmental services sector. Your expertise in storytelling and your keen attention to detail will help deliver messages that inspire, inform, and engage stakeholders, donors, and the community.
**Content Creation and Management**:
- Develop, write, and edit compelling content for various platforms, including newsletters, social media, website, press releases, and promotional materials.
- Ensure all content aligns with the vision, mission, values, and branding guidelines of CWSDS.
**Social Media Management**:
- Manage and grow the social media presence of CWSDS across multiple platforms.
- Create and schedule engaging posts, monitor interactions, and respond to comments and messages.
**Public Relations**:
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts.
- Draft and distribute press releases, and coordinate media coverage for events and initiatives.
**Brand Standards**:
- Support the development of brand standards, messaging, content standards, and overall communication strategy.
**Campaign Development**:
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns to support fundraising events, awareness initiatives, and program promotions.
- Analyze campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed to achieve goals.
**Graphic Design and Multimedia**:
- Develop and create visually appealing marketing materials (e.g. Annual Report of CWSDS), utilizing vendors when necessary.
- Produce and edit videos and other multimedia content to enhance storytelling efforts, utilizing vendors when necessary.
**Event Support**:
- Assist in the planning and promotion of events, including fundraising galas, community outreach programs, and awareness campaigns.
- Coordinate event logistics and manage communications with participants and sponsors.
**Analytics and Reporting**:
- Track and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communication efforts.
- Use data to inform and improve future strategies.
**Collaboration**:
- Work closely with program staff, volunteers, and external partners to ensure cohesive and effective communication.
- Support cross-functional teams with marketing and communication needs.
**Website Management**:
- Update and maintain information on the organization’s website.
**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a NFP setting.
