**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform complex surgical procedures including:
- Wisdom teeth extractions (impacted and non-impacted)
- Dental implants and bone grafting
- Orthognathic (corrective jaw) surgery
- Management of facial trauma and infections
- Treatment of TMJ disorders
- Oral pathology evaluation and biopsy
- Conduct patient consultations and treatment planning in collaboration with referring dentists and specialists
- Interpret radiographic imaging such as panoramic x-rays, CT scans, and CBCT
- Prescribe and administer sedation or anesthesia (local, IV sedation, or general anesthesia if hospital privileges)
- Maintain detailed clinical records and informed consent documentation
- Comply with all RCDSO regulations, infection control standards, and OHIP (if applicable)
- Educate patients about surgical procedures, pre
- and post-operative care
**Qualifications**:
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
- Completion of a recognized Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program
- Certified and licensed by the **Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO)**:
- Fellowship or eligibility with the **Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC)** is preferred
- Valid Ontario medical license (if administering general anesthesia)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Strong communication, diagnostic, and surgical skills
