**Financial Controller**

**The Role**
Under the direction of the Vice President, Finance and Information Services, the Financial Controller is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department for a growing not-for-profit organization with a $55 million annual budget, and ensuring efficient processes and accurate financial reports. The Financial Controller provides supervision, support and direction to the Finance staff and is part of the team involved in the delivery of all finance services, including internal and external reporting and contracted services. This position is excluded from the Union Bargaining Unit. This is a 12-month temporary position.

**What You Bring**
You are a detail oriented, organized accounting professional who brings to the role:

- A degree in Business or Accounting with 5 years’ related accounting experience
- A professional accounting designation is preferred
- Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector
- Previous supervisory experience
- Demonstrated commitment to meaningful, informative, and accurate financial reporting
- Excellent current computer skills including Excel proficiency
- Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes, systems, and controls
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines
- Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem solving abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

All employees must be eligible to work with vulnerable adults under the BC Criminal Records Review Program and provide proof of a negative TB screen and proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $97,290.00-$109,710.00 per year

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
