As an intern, you will utilize your expertise in urban planning to contribute to the creation of comprehensive plans, conduct research and analysis, engage with stakeholders, and provide support in the implementation of projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and analysis of land use, transportation, housing, and environmental issues to inform planning decisions and help evaluate the effectiveness of plans and policies.
- Collect and analyze data to support planning processes and create maps and other visual aids to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Help prepare presentations, reports, and other communication materials for internal and external audiences.
- Attend meetings and workshops with planning staff, community groups, and other stakeholders.
**Requirements**:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in urban planning or a related field.
- Knowledge of urban planning principles, practices, and techniques.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Experience with community engagement and public outreach preferred.
This is a part-time or full-time internship, depending on the needs of the organization, with flexible scheduling options to accommodate coursework and other obligations.
**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay
- Commission pay
