**Position: AM Sorter**

**Location: ICS Ottawa**

**Hours: 01:00 - 09:30 (Monday-Friday)**

**Reports To: Operations Supervisor**

The **basic function** of this role is:

- Responsible for unloading and sorting of all incoming freight in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for sorting skids.
- Responsible for unloading and sorting of all incoming freight in an accurate and timely fashion at the docks, pre-sort, secondary sort, or other sort stations as may be assigned.
- Responsible for sorting mail, parcels, and boxes weighing up to 30 kg and using the postal code system to accurately sort to their respective destination branches.
- Responsible for performing accurate scanning for all bar-coded mail, parcels and boxes.
- Responsible for meeting or exceeding established productivity standards for the assigned sort station.
- Responsible for exercising care and control in the handling of customers’ freight.
- Responsible for the proper handling of all company equipment, machines, bins, etc.
- Responsible for ensuring the set-up of the work area and maintaining a clean work environment in the warehouse.
- Responsible for clearing the docks and performing shipping and receiving duties as may be required.
- Responsible for submitting all operational and branch paperwork as may be requested by a Supervisor.
- Responsible for any other duties that maybe assigned.

We are looking for individuals who closely meet the following **qualifications**:

- Previous experience working in a courier/mail-sorting environment is preferred.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 30 kg per piece
- Demonstrates knowledge of national provinces and corresponding postal codes
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and adaptable to different start times
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
- A team player who is able to work effectively with mínimal supervision
- Computer Skills required

Pay: From $18.53 per hour
