- Reporting to the Regional Director — Workplace Health and Safety, the Regional Manager, Medical Staff OHS Program is responsible for leading a variety of regional Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) projects pertaining to physicians’ occupational health and safety. This includes leading the development, and making recommendations for improvement and evaluation, of occupational health and safety initiatives for Medical Staff when they are working in Northern Health (NH) facilities, and within NH’s role as prime contractor. Working in support of Northern Health and in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as Medical Affairs, NH Senior Leadership, Doctors of BC, Resident Doctors of BC, WorkSafeBC, and the Ministry of Health, identifies needs, evaluates, and recommends standards that help meet process and quality improvement objectives.
- The Regional Manager, Medical Staff OHS Program fosters a consultative relationship with Medical Leaders and Staff, engages in proactive problem solving, and contributes to the overall strategic design and implementation of work processes that enable physician groups to actively participate in creating safe and healthy Northern Health workplaces.
- Starting salary will be approximately from $102,938 to $128,673 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.**Prince George** has a population of 89,490 (2021) local residents and is a service centre for approximately 320,000. **Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (e.g., Occupational Health & Safety) plus a minimum of five (5) years of related health and safety, project management or process improvement experience in a large complex organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Professional accreditation (CRSP, CSP, CIH, ROH, ASA) or ability to attain within six months.
- Experience in providing Occupational Health & Safety services in a health care setting is preferred.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Working knowledge of project management principles, methods and tools and ability to plan, manage, and complete large-scale projects.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and develop recommendations using facilitation and consensus building.
- Demonstrated clinical thinking and analytical skills including statistical analysis and evaluation methodology.
- Ability to motivate and persuade leaders, physicians, and medical staff at all levels to embrace and take action initiatives.
- Exhibit a passion for safe and healthy workplaces and possess the expertise and vision to enhance our workplace health and safety initiatives and programs.
- Ability to develop education programs, teach, and evaluate learning.
- Knowledge of communicable disease and exposure prevention and management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of employee health and wellness principles and practice.
- Ability to work independently and be guided by standards of practice, WorkSafeBC regulations, and Northern Health standards.
- Ability to prepare and present information to multiple audiences.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and legislation.
