Sarnia, Canada OWS Rail Car Full time

**OWS Railcar** leverages its unique capabilities to support customers in the railway industry in such areas as passenger, freight, mining, steel production, forestry, and agriculture.
- Perform manual labor.
- Repair or adjust Track switches using hand tools.
- Grind ends of rails, remove old spikes, drive new spikes, cut ties and perform related maintenance using hand tools.
- Operate track wrenches to loosen and tighten bolts.
- Cut rail to specific lengths using rail saws.
- Operate light and heavy yard maintenance machinery, portable grinder, spike puller and others.
- Operate power and manual tools. Use power drill to drill holes through rail, tie plates or ties.
- Loading, unloading and general handling of materials and equipment.
- Basic maintenance work on machinery used.
- Some travel may be required.
- 40 hours per week and some overtime may be expected.

**Work Environment**:

- Outdoors in all weather conditions and on uneven ground.

**Physical and Mental Demands**:

- Able to lift and carry 50lbs.
- Possible heavy lifting over 50lbs.
- Able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel and sit for extended periods of time.
- Skill in use of tools and machines.
- Able to use hands to hold, grasp, turn or pull. Able to reach over shoulder.
- Able to work with load noises, chemicals, fumes, dirt and dust.
- Able to perform heavy manual labour.
- Able to operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.

**Experience & Education**:

- Clean driving abstract
- **MUST be able to successfully pass all required training, background check, drug & alcohol testing.**
