Please be advised that there are two, six-months temporary Clerk II: Member Records Clerk positions available with an initial work assignment in Edmonton within the Membership Records department.
**Summary of Duties**:
The Member Records Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date membership data. This role involves entering, updating, and verifying member information within the Membership database and responding to member inquiries. The Member Records Clerk ensures data integrity and confidentiality. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in data entry and recordkeeping are essential for success in this position.
**Qualifications**:
- Grade 12 Diploma.
- Detail-oriented and meticulous.
- Well-organized and able to manage multiple details simultaneously.
- Ability to diligently follow established processes.
- Knowledge of common office procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
- Proficiency with office productivity software.
**Experience**:
- **Previous**: One (1) year experience in an office environment performing clerical duties.
- **On the Job**: Nine (9) months on the job to become familiar with the database, computer system, related programs/software, and AUPE policies and procedures.
**Key Activities**:
- Performs data entry.
- Maintains up-to-date files of membership records in the Union’s database.
- Processes membership cards and grey cards.
- Edits Employer data for discrepancies and, once checked, makes the necessary changes in the database.
- Processes name and address changes in the database.
- Processes mail returns and creates labels with corrected addresses.- Scans, stores, and maintains files using an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system.
- Assists with basic clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and document preparation.
**Other Skills/Abilities**:
- Ability to work well under pressure and against specific deadlines.
- Must possess a pleasant manner, as on occasion may be required to work with members or other staff in stressful situations.
- Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with the membership, the public and other AUPE employees.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential.
- Must be organized and able to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated communication skills.
- Other duties may be as assigned as required based on operational requirements.
The salary and benefits are as per the Collective Agreement between AUPE and AULReP.
