Don’t miss out on the opportunity to work alongside the world’s best in paediatric healthcare. **Position Description**: SickKids is a world-renowned paediatric hospital with seven fully integrated research programs and a breadth of infrastructure and core facilities. The Molecular Medicine Program Head provides leadership and mentorship to ~25 faculty and >200 trainees and staff. The Program Head also contributes to scientific direction of the SickKids Research Institute through strategic planning with the Chief of Research and other senior leaders. The Program is located in the state-of-the-art Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning in the Discovery District of Toronto. This unique environment for biomedical science encompasses nine other academic hospital research centres and the University of Toronto (UofT), Canada¿s largest and most highly ranked university. The Program Head role is a five-year appointment, with conditional renewal for a further five years. The successful applicant will be appointed as a full-time permanent Senior Scientist in the Research Institute, and will qualify for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level in an appropriate department at UofT. If applicable, the successful applicant may also be considered for appointment to the Vector Institute, a world-class environment for artificial intelligence research, supported by government and private industry in partnership with Ontario Universities. The successful applicant is expected to maintain an original, competitive, and independently funded research program of the highest international caliber.
