**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Reporting to the Clinical Manager the Psychologist is responsible for the assessment diagnosis prevention and treatment of behavioural and mental disorders and dysfunctions; and the maintenance and enhancement of physical intellectual emotional social and interpersonal functioning (Psychologist Act 1991). Key responsibilities include direct psychological services to both individuals and groups.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
Education/Experience:
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
- Experience in the provision of brief and moderate term psychological intervention including group and individual psychotherapy and behaviour management techniques with adults with serious mental health and/or addiction issues
- Experience in a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches with adults is preferred
- Experience in research program evaluation and knowledge transfer preferred
- Experience providing supervision to non-registered staff and/or students is preferred
- Experience working within an interprofessional team setting with the ability to work collaboratively as a team player with excellent relationship building interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Decision guide/Shared Decision making model of care motivational interviewing and strengths based approaches to care
- Knowledge and experience with the development execution and evaluation of treatment plans utilizing SMART goals
- Skill/experience in the administration and interpretation of psychometric tests
- Understanding of relevant legislation (Mental Health Act Health Care Consent Act and PHIPA)
- Knowledge of the Strategic Priorities of SJCG and Mental Health Outpatient Programs
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license adequate insurance and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work and adherence to the SJCG Principles of Conduct
Conditions of Employment:
- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory **Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)**where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
