**Thermex Metal Treating Ltd. | Shipping and Receiving | $23.00-$25.00/hr** Thermex offers the widest range of ferrous metal heat treating processes available in Western Canada. Based out of Edmonton Alberta, Thermex strives to provide the best heat treating solutions. Thermex is looking for an experienced Shipper and Receiver to join our Shipping and Receiving Team. The Shipping and Receiving role is responsible for the accurate receiving and shipping of orders, parts and supplies. Keeps track of orders, establishes initial critical information for the jobs, and prioritizes and releases completed jobs based on due dates. The individual serves as the face of Thermex at the back of the shop and deals with customers/couriers in a professional manner. The position is accountable for ensuring proper packaging and protection of incoming and outgoing customer parts, monitoring inventory and ensuring safe and efficient use of the work area. Duties will include, but are not limited to: **Receiving** - Receive and ensure proper packaging and protection of incoming customer parts. - Receive and correctly keep track of orders. Enter into system same day as received (currently manual). - Establish the initial critical information for the jobs, highlight concerns or discrepancies. - Establish traceability and accuracy of orders and flag discrepancies on work orders. - Receive all incoming jobs as per Thermex procedures, and store and organize on shelving in the appropriate part of the shop. Identify all customer pallets and containers. Count, weigh, fill out receiving form, and organize paperwork for job opening. Fill out Incoming Jobs list. - Receive incoming supplies and parts including critical supplies and parts and deliver to appropriate area. - Ensure that all customers, couriers and drivers are helped as efficiently and pleasantly as possible. **Shipping** - Ship parts and deal with customers and couriers in a professional manner. - Prepare completed jobs for shipping, including blast cleaning, stacking of parts in containers or on pallets, wrapping, and completion of pre-shipping inspection as per Thermex procedures. Ensure proper packaging and protection of customer parts. For parts received in special wrapping, packaging or containers, ensure the same methods are used to ship parts back to customers. - Complete final pre-ship inspection and quality control for count, appearance and packaging. - Contact customers and/or couriers to organize outgoing shipments of completed jobs. - Ensure that all customers, couriers and drivers are helped as efficiently and pleasantly as possible. **Customer/courier interface** - Accountable for customer/courier - interface. Serve as the face of Thermex at the back of the shop. - Communicate with customers to identify and resolve issues including problem counts, missed or delayed shipments, and problems with couriers. **Forklift operation and maintenance** - Operate forklift and perform basic forklift maintenance. - Perform weekly general PM checks on forklift including checking fluid levels and tire pressure and condition. **QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED OF APPLICANT** - Grade 12 education and minimum of 5 years of shipping and receiving experience. - Basic understanding of hand tools required. - Minimum 2 years documented experience with forklift operation (previous forklift certification an asset). Prior crane operation an asset, but not a requirement. - Strong communication skills and proficient in spoken and written English language. - Ability to understand customer requirements and provide superior customer service levels. - **Valid drivers license and Access to a reliable vehicle.** **WORKING CONDITIONS** - Shop environment, working with various machines. - Long periods of standing, noise and high temperatures. - Some outside work is required from time to time. - PPE is required on the shop floor (Ear, Eye and Boot). **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Dental care - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site parking Application question(s): - Are you willing to undergo a pre-employment "fit-for-work" assessment?
