**Job Overview**:
As the Corporate Accountant reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will support a wide variety of key finance functions including financial accounting, reporting, and compliance.
**What you’ll get to do**:Fixed Asset Sub-Ledger Management**:

- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger, ensuring accuracy of additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation calculations.
- Prepare monthly fixed asset roll-forward schedules and other reports for internal and external audits.
- Collaborate with operations and capex teams to ensure compliance with company policies and proper asset capitalization.
- Work with capex finance team for process improvement initiatives to enhance asset tracking, reporting accuracy, and workflow efficiency.

**Other tasks**:

- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and provide commentary on variance analysis in support of monthly close processes.
- Prepare supporting schedules for month-end and perform balance sheet reconciliations in Reconciliation Tool (Blackline).
- Manage biweekly inter-company reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies for a smooth month-end close.
- Prepare payroll entries and reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies with payroll department.
- Be an active participant in cross-training with other team-members to ensure team resilience and business continuity plan.
- Assist with financial analysis and other reporting requirements as needed and support various related ad hoc requests/projects.

**Recipe for Success**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, along with a CPA designation
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP and full cycle accounting. Knowledge of US GAAP an asset
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
- Quick thinking, resourceful, ability to balance multiple deadlines/priorities
- Ability to collaborate with other staff/departments to problem solve and correct issues as they arise
- Detail-oriented, with strong computer skills required (specifically MS Office-Excel)
- Process oriented. Desire and proven ability to improve status quo
- Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or consumer products an asset
