Training Specialist

**Responsibilities**:
- Conducting training needs analysis
- Interacting with third-party technical experts, reviewing and designing course content
- Conducting instructor-led training for all new hires
- Developing, updating and providing orientation training on current Windows, Microsoft Office and other firm-related software in collaboration with firm leadership and department managers and directors
- Delivering training in classrooms and on the web and providing additional one-on-one coaching
- Developing and maintaining reference materials for training, including instructor notes, quick reference guides and manuals
- Developing technology test plans and performing technology testing on an as-needed basis with the guidance and support of firm leadership, department managers and the Director
- Anticipating firm technology training needs while working with managers to research and design effective programs
- Remaining up-to-date on emerging technologies and trends
- Other duties as assigned
**Education and Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 3 years training experience
- Extensive knowledge of software used in a legal environment is considered an asset
- Document management systems
- Microsoft Office, macro and template packages
- PDF software and digital dictation software
- A firm understanding of software instruction and technical writing
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a manner readily understood by non-technical users, both orally and literally
- Strong customer service and collaboration skills
- Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities with ease
- Detail-orientated, self-motivated and able to work independently
- Experience with a learning management system and developing modules would be an asset
- Previous experience in a fast-paced legal environment would be an asset
