Courier Driver Job Description

**Duties**:

- Safely and efficiently operate a courier vehicle to deliver packages and goods to designated locations
- Load and unload packages using manual transmission, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other equipment as necessary
- Plan and follow designated routes to ensure timely delivery of packages
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and proof of delivery
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring packages are delivered in a professional and courteous manner
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the vehicle
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition
- Communicate with dispatchers and supervisors regarding any delays or issues during deliveries

**Requirements**:

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Experience driving manual transmission vehicles
- Ability to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment
- Excellent navigational skills and knowledge of local roads and routes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina to lift heavy packages and perform loading/unloading tasks
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries
- Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members

**Note: Previous experience as a courier or in a similar role is preferred but not required.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 60 months

**Salary**: $175.00-$250.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Edmonton, AB T6B 3M6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- delivery driving: 1 year (preferred)
