**Job Summary**

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Cultivate and maintain a wide variety of orchid species and hybrids in greenhouse or nursery environments
  • Monitor and optimize growing conditions, including humidity, light, temperature, and watering schedules
  • Propagate orchids through various methods (division, keiki, seedling, or tissue culture support)
  • Identify and manage pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies using sustainable methods
  • Maintain accurate records of plant health, treatments, propagation success, and inventory
  • Assist in the planning and execution of seasonal displays, exhibitions, or sales events
  • Collaborate with senior horticulturists and botanists on ongoing research or breeding programs
  • Educate staff or visitors on orchid care, history, and conservation
  • Ensure compliance with plant health regulations and phytosanitary standards (especially for export/import businesses)

**Requirements**

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Horticulture, Botany, Agriculture, or related field (preferred but not mandatory if hands-on experience is strong)
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience working with orchids or in greenhouse/nursery environments
  • Strong knowledge of orchid biology, taxonomy, and cultivation techniques
  • Attention to detail, patience, and a passion for plant care
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting
  • Physical ability to work in humid greenhouse conditions and lift/carry plant materials

**Nice to Have**

  • Experience in tissue culture or orchid breeding
  • Participation in orchid shows or exhibitions
  • Membership in local or international orchid societies

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
