Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team in support of the deliver of various facility projects, preventative and predictive maintenance efforts to support production and achieve company uptime goals.

**Education**:

- Mechanical Millwright and/or Electrical experience
- Trade certification, Red Seal, or equivalency required in Mechanical or Electrical field.

**Experience**:

- 10 years progressive experience in multi-trade industrial maintenance;
- Previous leadership experience in multi-trade industrial maintenance or related field.
- Electrical, Mechanical and PLC experience required
- 80% work mostly related to Mechanical and 20% related to Electrical and require good solid knowledge of PLC for trouble shooting purposes and repairs
- Ability to work hands on for repairs and lead and be involved with the group during downtime emergencies

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Excellent understanding/knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, electrical and mechanical maintenance;
- Excellent understanding/knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance principles;
- Excellent understanding of housekeeping and safety principles;
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to research and solve problems;
- General knowledge Microsoft Office Suite programs i.e. Word, Excel etc.
- Proficient math, reading and blueprint reading skills;
- Ability to present positive communications to departmental employees;
- Communication, coaching, counseling, and managing skills are essential with proven ability to influence behavior;
- Flexibility in working hours to be available when needed;
- OHS knowledge will be an advantage;
- Ability to read blueprints and detailed drawings/use AutoCAD.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Take a leadership role on project work, suggesting and supporting process and equipment improvements, developing, and executing plant plans, ensuring project completions with the best possible outcomes;
- Coach and develop technicians in the department by leading and executing effective training strategies, according to company standards to ensure top notch performance and team centered interactions with the production department;
- Foster an environment where employees will willingly make extra effort to exceed goals and look for opportunities to improve our processes and develop a lean, responsive, and knowledgeable workforce;
- Effectively troubleshoot processes to achieve company uptime goals;
- Take a ‘hands on’ approach, responding quickly to any breakdowns, discrepancies or non-conforming machine performance based on departmental procedures, to make corrections or adjustments to processes appropriately;
- Set an example for all things safety related; provide accountability of all safety programs, participation in safety practices, wearing of PPE according to company standards and government regulations to facility a safe working environment;
- Communicate and provide compliance of all company strategic initiatives.
- Create PO’s and order required supplies as well as control inventory and maintain the Maintenance Software system for work orders etc.
- Ability to work hands on with tools and coordinate the group in a collaborative environment
