VH Perioperative Care consists of Pre-Admit Clinic, Day Surgery and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU), completing over 17,000 surgical cases annually. This position will support the assigned departments within Perioperative Care at Victoria Hospital.

**Job Summary**:
**What the Role is**

Reporting to the Director Surgical Care Victoria Hospital (VH), the Clinical Manager, Perioperative Care supports the implementation of the vision, mission, values and strategic plan of LHSC by providing front-line management, support and development using a focused depth of technical knowledge and broader-based operational and management expertise. The Clinical Manager will play a key role in the day to day operations, quality improvement, infection and risk prevention, and continuous education through the development and evaluation of improvement activities. The Clinical Manager will strive to ensure safe, high quality service delivery and exceptional patient experiences, as well as facilitate timely patient access and flow and work collaboratively with the Program Clinical Managers to ensure seamless flow throughout the surgical experience for our patients.

This role is accountable for day-to-day department activities, including the management of human and material resources, day-to-day staffing and scheduling, development and support of a healthy workplace, risk and utilization measurements, and facilitation of improvement initiatives and change management, while operating within approved operational budgets and financial guidelines and controls. A major focus of the role is fostering effective working relationships and networks within the team/unit and with other teams across the organization.

**What You Will Bring with You**
- Successful completion of a recognized baccalaureate degree program in a health care related discipline required
- Related post-graduate education preferred
- Current Certificate of Registration from a college recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles in a healthcare environment, preferably in an acute care academic teaching hospitaly
- Minimum 3 years' clinical and/or management experience in a surgical or critical care department preferred
- Preference and consideration will be given to active members of the Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) who have, or are in process of attaining the Canadian Health Executive (CHE) Select certification program
