**Current Rate of Pay**: Min $54.04- Max $67.56

**Position Summary**:
The Manager is responsible for facilitating day to day patient care related activities within the Inpatient Surgery Department at GGH. They provide daily direction to unit personnel to provide high quality, safe, evidence-based care in partnership with the patients and families, and in keeping with the vision, mission and values of GGH. In collaboration with the Director, they implement initiatives that align with departmental and strategic goals and objectives of the organization.

The Manager, in collaboration with the Director, ensures they provide an environment that supports and advances professional practice, and leads clinical staff in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient-centered care philosophy. They serve as a role model for professional and organizational core competencies and support quality patient-care outcomes. The manager will work closely with the Flow Manager to ensure timely and appropriate placement of patients

**Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities**:

- Registered Healthcare Professional (preferably Nursing)
- Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare field ,
- Master’s degree in a health-related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of acute care clinical experience.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and responsibilities, with 2 years formal management experience.
- Membership in relevant professional organization(s)
- Experience with guiding staff, experiencing performance and/or attendance problems.
- Experience with Lean process improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and responsibilities.
- Demonstrate leadership with respect to enhancing patient and staff safety.
- Demonstrate leadership to support patient experience and patient satisfaction.
- Demonstrated excellence interpersonal communication, coaching, mentoring and team building skills.
