Railway Signal Maintainer

**Summary**
As a Railway Signal Maintainer, you will be essential in ensuring the safety and efficiency of railway operations. Reporting to the Signal Maintenance Supervisor, you will utilize your core skills in mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and industrial maintenance to troubleshoot and repair signaling systems. Your premium skills in programmable logic controllers and industrial electrician experience will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Additionally, your relevant skills in customer service and analysis will support collaboration with team members and stakeholders, contributing to the overall reliability of the railway infrastructure.
**Key Responsibilities and Functions**
- Test and verify the proper operation of signals & communications systems and equipment in an assigned territory;
- Investigate and locate problems or failures and take the proper corrective action (on call);
- Perform a variety of maintenance work necessary to keep the equipment running asintended at all times;
- Operate on track and highway vehicles;
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of required information
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- 3 years’ experience in field or a related field a must;
- High school diploma;
- Good knowledge of crossing warning systems: Relay logic, Constant Warning and Motion Sensors;
- Post-secondary education in electromechanical or auto mechanics (asset)
- Railway signal certification (asset);
- Ability to work at heights;
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications;
- Ability to understand, interpret and record technical and other information;
- Safety minded work ethic;
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical labour (including lifting and/or displacingapproximately 60 lbs);
- Valid driver’s licence of “Passenger vehicles”
**Work schedule**
Monday to Friday (full time) and on call periods (night and weekends).
Schedule can be modified for more flexibility following a local agreement.

Pay: Up to $37.00 per hour
