**Reports to**: The Assistant Director-Nunavik Research Centre in the Department of Environment, Wildlife and Research

**Location**: Kuujjuaq

**Status of Employment**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: According to the Salary Scale

**Responsibilities**

Assisting and supporting the NRC team in all aspects of communication & liaison. Examples of internal communications tasks include, but are not limited to:

- Assisting Assistant Director in preparing reports & presentations;
- Assisting Professional Staff in creating posters & presentations for both scientific and community engagement events;
- Assisting Professional Staff in developing and running education, training & outreach activities for Inuit youth;
- Assisting Professional Staff, and DEWR’s Education and Outreach Coordinator, in developing engagement initiatives with Nunavik communities;
- Assisting NRC Archivist with management of data and collections;
- Assist Assistant Director and Secretary with planning, technical support and follow-up of meetings (in person and virtual);
Examples of external communications tasks include, but are not limited to:

- Fielding requests for information and support from Nunavik communities and local and regional organizations;
- Fielding requests for information and support from outside researchers and partners;
- Updating NRC webpage and creation/management of NRC social media account(s) in collaboration with Makivik’s Communications Team;
- Assisting Professional Staff in writing magazine and journal articles;
- Be available to travel, as requested;- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.

**Qualifications**
- Masters of Sciences;
- Any field work, knowledge of biological (wildlife) sciences, is an asset;
- Good communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
- Strong computer skills : Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);Inuit traditions and cultural knowledge and understanding, is an asset;
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communications skills;
- Demonstrate the capacity to work autonomously and a great team player.
