**The Opportunity**:
The Financial Analyst is a key member of the finance team responsible to lead all aspects of project revenue accounting. Duties include reviewing contracts, evaluating project revenue criteria and determining project set up, reporting on project performance and key metrics, and assisting with monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting; including participation in budgeting and forecasting. The Financial Analyst will work closely with multiple departments to ensure the integrity of the financial reporting. This position requires strong accounting knowledge, Excel skills, attention to detail, a positive professional attitude, and the ability to work in a team environment.

**Key Job Responsibilities**:

- Review contracts and determine the appropriate revenue recognition method for projects based on the respective contract terms and IFRS standards.
- Review projects on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis with project managers to ensure revenue has been appropriately recognized for the period in question and to determine if there are any issues with collectability.
- Prepare monthly KPI reports including DSO, net fee factor, utilization, WIP aging, backlog, and gross margin.
- Supervise the team of Project Accountants to ensure projects are set up in accordance with IFRS guidance.
- Develop strong relationships with internal business partners to support company goals and initiatives.
- Participate in the development of fiscal year budgets and forecasts to meet business goals.
- Liaise with external auditors in the year end audit as the key contact for the project revenue/cost reporting.
- Identify problems and shortfalls and propose solutions in area of project accounting.
- Assist with ad hoc projects or initiatives.
- Other duties within the scope of the job, as requested by management.

**Qualifications, Education, and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years combined experience in high level accounting and finance.
- Previous experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior knowledge of Excel.
- Strong knowledge of data warehouse, business intelligence and reporting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of a programming language considered an asset.
- Proven ability to embrace technology for continuous improvements.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Flexible and able to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization.
- Must demonstrate flexibility, strong commitment to meeting deadlines, and effective decision-making skills.
- Self-motivator with ability to work independently.
