**Job Description**:

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Preceptor works in a team based, computerized environment and is responsible for instructing Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) students during their rotation through the clinic or hospital, creates a positive and inclusive learning environment, demonstrates expertise and leadership in DMS, and performs technical and diagnostic procedures, as required. Duties include receiving and completing requisitions, forms and reports; preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment; patient monitoring; and operating ultrasound equipment, including preparing and presenting patient data to reporting physician.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:

- Graduation from an approved Ultrasound Technologist Diploma program.
- Sonography Canada and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) certification credentials as a Generalist Sonographer and three (3) years recent, related experience in a health care setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification - Basic Life Support (BCLS) level (CCHW Site Only).
- Eligible for registration with Sonography Canada.

- Ability to teach students and others both one-on-one and in groups.
