Arena and Aquatics Attendant

**Position Overview**:
The Arena and Aquatics Attendant - Permanent, under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator, plays a key role in ensuring the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the City’s Arena and Aquatic facilities, while providing excellent customer service to patrons.
Looking to fill 3 permanent positions.
**Principle Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Perform daily maintenance and operation duties required in the normal operation of arena and aquatic facilities and grounds.
- Ice maintenance, including resurfacing, edging and repairing ice surfaces.
- Operate and perform minor maintenance on buildings, ice resurfacing equipment (ie Zamboni), boards, glass, nets, pool filtration systems, and other facility components, as required.
- Perform and record daily ice plant readings, weekly air quality and building safety checks.
- Maintain pool operations, including water quality testing and adjustments to chemical levels.
- Monitor and assign tasks to casual or part-time staff.
- Assist with set up and take down of equipment for events, rentals and special programs.
- Monitor the security of the facilities.
- Required to determine if electrical, refrigeration and other mechanical systems are operating satisfactorily. Must be able to perform minor control adjustments according to instructions.
- Provide information to patrons regarding schedules, rules and facility services, ensuring a warm welcome and inclusive environment for all facility users.
- Address customer concerns and escalate issues as needed.
- Perform daily janitorial duties to ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities, including dressing rooms, washrooms, lobbies and spectator areas.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards or maintenance needs and report issues to supervisor.
- Monitor, maintain and follow all safety standards and enforce facility rules and regulations as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations, workplace safety procedures and municipal policies.
- Respond to emergencies, provide first aid when necessary, and document incidents appropriately.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Grade 12
- Valid Refrigeration Operator's Certificate recognized by the Province of Saskatchewan
- Standard First Aid with CPR-HCP or BLS
- Valid WHMIS certificate
- Must obtain and maintain a Certified Pool Operator Certificate within 6 months
- Valid Driver’s License
- Criminal Record Check
