**Job Description**:
What you can expect in a typical day
With thousands of maintenance activities taking place each year at our Saint John Refinery, Maintenance Schedulers are responsible for reviewing and understanding refinery maintenance plans to ensure the necessary people, parts, information, and equipment are available based on schedule commitments. By working closely with Operations and Maintenance teams, you will establish comprehensive weekly schedules. You will follow-up with area teams and other stakeholders to clearly communicate all scheduled maintenance activities and hold them accountable to their commitments. This position regularly requires reviewing work orders in the field, so the ability to wear all PPE as required is critical.

Your roles and responsibilities:
- Review maintenance plans and identify all resources required to complete the job: people, parts, information, materials, equipment.- Work with area maintenance teams to prioritize work; develop accurate weekly schedules including pre and post-work activities.- Ensure that all parts, materials, and equipment is secured for scheduled work; coordinate third party resource requirements.- Able to coordinate multiple stakeholders so that everything needed for a job is ready as per the plan. Hold stakeholders to account for commitments: suppliers, vendors, contractors.- Build and review all schedules for efficient execution making sure they are fully resource loaded and leveled.- Lead regular scheduling meetings; identify and lead critical path reviews.- Maintain a 3 week schedule forecast verifying that routine and all other work activities are scheduled; ensure that priority and age in backlog are considered.- Communicate additional resource requirements or work order priority conflicts.- Review daily updates against the baseline.
Professional skills- Proactive outlook; able to identify risk in the schedule and take action to mitigate, e.g. suppliers running late, damaged or lost deliveries, contractors not understand the proper scope, etc.- Excellent time management.- Attention to detail- Very strong organizational and coordination skills.- Continuous improvement mindset.- Strong oral communication skills. Ability to talk to stakeholders and hold them to their commitments in order to mitigate any problems or risks that could prevent the job from starting and ending according to the established schedule.- Comprehensive understanding of sequencing and prioritization of tasks associated with preforming maintenance activities on equipment.- Ability to work through problems and keep work on track.- Ability to push-back and question others on meeting established commitments; help them with getting the plan back on track as quickly as possible.
Education and experience- Experience working in trades beneficial but not a requirement.- Minimum 5 years of experience in refinery equipment operation or maintenance scheduling, planning, and execution.- Minimum 3 years of direct experience with maintenance activities or maintenance related projects.- Proficient with Oracle eAM, Viziya Work Align Scheduler, or Primavera P6, or similar software is an asset.- Previous experience planning and scheduling maintenance activities is a definite asset.
