Housekeeping Lead

Overview:
The main purpose of the job is to support the Room Attendants to maintain a safe and clean environment. The key role would be to maintain employee relations, schedule and monitor work.
Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Housekeeping Lead will assign tasks that give direction to Room Attendants to clean areas within the hotel.
**Responsibilities**:
- Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management
- To clean Guestrooms to the highest standards
- Report any room deficiencies
- Must be able to complete 16 Rooms in an eight-hour shift (average of 25 minutes a room)
- Turn in all lost and found items
- Keep Linen room closet and Service Areas clean and tidy at all times.
- Keep Guest Room doors locked always.
- Restock service areas with guest supplies
- Refill caddies with guest amenities, refill cleaning chemical bottles and wash cleaning rags.
- Check and store all guestrooms keys in locked box and updated key log sheet
- To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience is required
- Must have working knowledge of the English language (verbal, written, reading)
- Must be neat and tidy with a natural talent for cleanliness
- To understand the proper handling of cleaning products
- Adherence to departmental job safety analysis and WHMIS
- Ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Must possess a positive attitude in stressful situations
- Must be able to communicate effectively with other Associates and Guests
- Must be an excellent team player
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours/day.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, weekends and holidays.
