**Summary**:
Reporting to the Marketing Planning & Operations Manager, the Competitive Intelligence Analyst is responsible for the research, collection, and analysis of business data, trends, and insights. This position requires in-depth gathering and market research about products and business operations from a variety of sources including but not limited to social media sites, websites, and surveys. The role requires innovative and creative ways of gathering, analyzing, and communicating the data to identify trends and patterns needed to drive and improve business strategies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Partner with category teams and market managers to identify and track competitor trends.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking on industry trends to identify implications and observe patterns.
- Proactively identify key non-traditional threats and new market opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal and external experts to develop competitor summaries, perspectives, and strategies.
- Interpret results, generate insights, and present findings to make informed business decisions.
- Maintain database and calendar of general and category-specific retail trends.
- Develop and maintain a clear competitive intelligence strategy.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop competitive positioning.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in a business-related field such as business administration, marketing and sales
- 2 - 4 years of experience working as a Competitive Intelligence Analyst or in a similar field
- Strong investigation and analytical skills
- Ability to translate data and make recommendations based on findings
- Excellent communication and the ability to present findings using a variety of formats
- Highly motivated, organized with the ability to work autonomously
- Ability to prioritize work with good time-management skills
- Comfortable building and maintaining strong working relationships
