Night Housekeeper/psw

**Hours**:20-40 hours weekly - days can be made to be flexible **-**hours per week will be considered based on occupancy within the home.

**Key Responsibilities**:The housekeeper works on the floor to support the overall cleanliness of resident suites and common spaces in the building. The housekeeper is responsible to ensure the best quality of cleanliness for the resident’s suites, general safety, and exceptional customer service for them and their guests.

**As a positive and active contributor, your key duties will include**:

- Complete daily infection control duties to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents, team members and visitors
- Supports rotational deep clean of all residents’ accommodations as assigned to ensure appropriate level of cleaning including but not limited to:

- Vacuuming and mopping floors including under furniture that can be reached
- A complete dusting of all horizontal surfaces that can be reached with mínimal moving of personal items
- Deep clean of bathrooms including scrub of shower, floors, toilet both top, bottom and behind, sink and counters, mirror
- Infection control of all high touch areas (door knobs and light switches)
- Cleaning of rotational items such as fan blades, window washing, refrigerators, smoke detectors and other items as assigned
- Provides personal laundry services on an as needed basis only
- Operates, cleans and maintains equipment in good working order
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) experience, or similar, will be highly favoured
- Previous work experience in providing laundry, housekeeping services an asset
- Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Ability to read and communicate effectively
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors
- Effective interpersonal relationship and conflict resolution skills
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Must be able to operate related equipment

**Working Conditions include**
- Ability to exert equivalent of lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbs between 25%-50% of the shift
- Job requires regular exposure to challenging conditions and chemicals (more than 50% of the time)
- Job is performed with little requirement to endure challenging conditions
- Minimal multi tasking or interruptions

**Skills**
- Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the facility
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects if required
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication skills to interact with residents and staff in a professional manner

Previous experience as a PSW, housekeeper or a similar role is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
