Crew Lead — Climbing and Bucket Truck Operations

Looking to fill the unique combo role within our company as a crew lead for aerial lift and climbing operations.

As the senior most member on your crew, you will be responsible for overseeing 1-3 other staff.

You will be responsible for executing proper pruning techniques; trimming trees, clearing and chipping tree debris, and disposing of tree debris for residential and commercial jobs in an efficient manner, promote job worksite safety, provide excellent customer service, and exhibit pride and quality workmanship.

Job Requirements:

- Ability to lift 50 lbs of material or equipment and work on uneven terrain for an extended period of time.
- Ability to withstand exposure to weather conditions including humidity, rain, snow, hot and cold temperatures.
- Must have a valid DZ license in good standing.
- Must have sound understanding of the best safe work practices associated with arboriculture.
- Must be able to work 4.5 day work weeks (every other Friday is optional). May on rare occasions be asked to work weekends and holidays.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively to the team as well as our commercial/residential clients.
- Maintain good attendance record as well as good punctuality.
- Understands and adheres to company and safety policies, proper lifting techniques, and general wellness.
- Possess the necessary rigging and lowering skills to perform tree pruning and removals safely.
- Must be able to recognize and report deficiencies in trees and equipment.
- Must be knowledgable in the area of tree identification and basic understanding of tree biology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Follow all direct orders given to you by your supervisor.
- Work as part of a team.
- Always represent the company’s best interest, maintain the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
- Operate and perform inspection and preventative maintenance on gas and battery powered equipment used for tree work.
- Secure the work area around tree so public will be safe from falling debris.
- Inspect climbing gear and tree care equipment to be sure that all equipment and tools are safe and in working order.
- Clean sidewalks, streets, and work areas of leaves and debris.
- Help train employees under your supervision to advance their abilities in the area of arboriculture.
- Lead and direct crew member activities and work sequencing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation will be based upon: a) previous experience, b) credentials/education in the field of arboriculture, c) professionalism in action and speech towards clients and fellow staff, d) ability to have jobs completed on time and on budget.

**Salary**: $27.00-$36.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Hamilton, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
