**Position: Systems Administrator**

**Job Overview**:
This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting all Server & Storage Infrastructure technology and cloud technologies at Longo’s. This position is also responsible for performing needs assessments, analysis and recommendations; documenting process improvements as well as implementing preventive and detective controls. This position requires interaction with cross functional teams including both internal resources and external partners and suppliers. This position includes all aspects of system monitoring, administration, troubleshooting, fine-tuning, enhancements, and documentation. This position is also involved in new system installs, configurations, and upgrades relative to supported technologies.

**Accountabilities**:
**Infrastructure Design and Security**:

- Ensure all Servers hardware and software are fully operational and take corrective action where necessary.
- Perform System Administration tasks including performance tuning, system optimization, disk space planning, backup and disaster recovery.
- Monitor, identify, and resolve production capacity, contention, and resource deficiencies
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support for all IT systems.
- Document and improve current IT infrastructure, processes and procedures.
- Management of Active Directory including GPO creation, maintenance and configuration.
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot virtualization environment (VMware, Nutanix) and manage VMs lifecycle.
- Configure, maintain and troubleshoot storage: (DAS), (NAS) and (SAN) HPE 3PAR, DELLEMC/Nutanix
- Manage IT security: patch management; deployment and enforcement of the security model for managing and granting access to resources.
- Analyze and evaluate company’s needs for equipment, platform, and software.
- Perform proactive research and evaluation of technologies leading to increased efficiency of the organization.
- Coordinate planned system maintenance with internal department managers to ensure mínimal impact to internal and external customers.
- Participate in IT department tactical planning and budgeting with IT Infrastructure Manager.
- Manage system alerts and provide after-hours and weekend support when necessary.
- Provide backup support for other members of the IT Team.

**Process Improvement & Internal Control**:

- Maintains documentation of and control over all Infrastructure documentation
- Reviews and documents current processes and practices
- Compares current processes to industry “best practice” and identifies opportunities to streamline and improve existing practices
- Identifies areas for cost reduction/avoidance and leads the process to realize savings and provide reporting of progress

**Knowledge, Skills & Competencies**:

- University / College Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent
- 5 - 10 years of direct technology experience in a multi-location organization
- Comprehensive knowledge of server & storage operating systems including VMware, Linux, Microsoft,
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Services (DNS, DHCP, SCCM), O365, Azure
- Comprehensive knowledge of Qualys Vulnerability/Patching platform
- Comprehensive knowledge of Monitoring, Alerting & Logging platforms (Nagios/Zabbix/App Dynamics/Splunk)
- Provision, configure, and monitor Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS Azure Cloud technologies & Marketplace
- Provision, configure, and monitor Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components
- Implement security measures and manage access controls in Azure
- Ensure the latest Azure roles and responsibilities knowledge & recommend implementation to improve efficiency
- Comprehensive knowledge of Backup Technologies including Veeam, VMWare SRM, Azure Migration
- Comprehensive knowledge of Database Technologies including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Clusters
- VMware/Nutanix and Microsoft Azure Certified an asset.
- Scripting knowledge including PowerShell, Bash, PowerCLI
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

**Working Conditions**:

- The position requires periodic work outside regular business hours to meet ongoing support and project business deadlines scheduled or ad hoc.
- The work is performed in an office environment or store environment as needed.
