Job Overview:
Personal Support & Inclusion Worker - located in Sidney BC (Vancouver Island)

($29-$32/HR )

Looking for a fabulous, calm and creative person to provide part-time afterschool care for my teenage daughter in our home or yours. Looking for someone to pick her up from school in Sidney and provide care and support_**2 days every other week (starting the week of Sept 2nd - every other Tuesday and Friday)**_ as well las provide some care over the winter break. Additionally, there is the potential for another contract and additional hours if interested and available.

You will need to be available to provide care on the following dates:
Tuesday Sept 2 (3pm pick-up - 6:30pm) & Friday Sept 5 (2 pm pick-up - 6:30pm)

Tuesday Sept 16 (3pm pick-up - 6:30pm) & Friday Sept 19 (2 pm - 6:30pm)

Friday Oct 3 (2 pm pick-up - 6:30pm)

Tuesday Oct 14 (3pm pick-up - 6:30pm) & Friday Oct 17 (2 pm pick-up - 6:30 pm)

Tuesday Oct 28 (3pm pick-up - 6:30pm) & Friday Oct 31st (2pm pick-up-6:30pm)

Tuesday November 11th (full day 10-6pm) & Friday Nov 14th (2pm pick-up - 6:30 pm)

Tuesday November 25th(3pm pick-up-6:30pm) & Friday November 28th (2pm pick-up - 6:30pm)

Tuesday December 9th (3pm pick-up-6:30pm) & Friday December 12th (2pm pick-up-6:30pm)

My daughter has autism and a rare deletion syndrome - she loves stories, walks, playing, music, Disney, and kids movies and is a funny little bean She is very chatty/animated, g-tube fed (all training provided - is easy to learn) and loves talking about pets (we don’t have any). Personal care is required. We would love to build a long-term relationship with additional opportunities available and are looking for the right fit. Experience with behavioral intervention is an asset but not required - all training is provided. You will have your schedule a minimum of one month in advance and get to learn cool skills such a g-tube feeding, behavioural management techniques, and positive behavioural support.

Schedule and Compensation:
This is a part-time contract for September 2 - January 2nd, additional opportunities for hours and the potential of continuing work. A $100 contract completion bonus will be paid for completing the shifts within the contract.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one care and support for our teen with autism and a rare deletion syndrome.
- Assist our teen with daily activities, including all personal care routines, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Provide g-tube care and feeds (all training provided - is easy to learn)
- Engage in recreational and educational activities tailored to the teen's interests and abilities.
- Implement behavior management strategies and communication techniques as directed by our family and support team.
- Accompany the teen on outings, walks and community activities as needed.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for the teen at all times.

Qualifications:

- Experience working with individuals with autism and/or developmental disabilities preferred but all training is provided
- Understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively and adapt to the unique needs of the teen.
- Compassionate, patient, calm and reliable with a genuine interest in supporting individuals with special needs.
- Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check (CRRA check
- can be completed once offer has been made)
- Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- must be eligible to work in Canada and start the position by start date

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $29.00-$32.00 per hour
