Anishnabeg Outreach EarlyON Centre is an incorporated non-profit organization guided by a volunteer Board of Directors. We work primarily with the non-profit sector and are guided by a clear mission and set of values. We provide Indigenous people with access to culturally appropriate services and strive to support individuals with direction and assistance to overcome barriers. We encourage individual exploration of avenues that will lead to self-sufficiency and success.

To help First Nations, Métis, and Inuit by creating a sustainable and comprehensive suite of centralized wrap around services for urban First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples and to establish Anishnabeg Outreach as an innovative hub/heart of best practices for economic development, training, and employment on reserves.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Certified in Standard First Aid and CPR- Level C
- Registered with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators or are working towards becoming a Registered Early Childhood Educator considered an asset
- Plan and deliver high quality and engaging programming to children and their families, in accordance with the How Does Learning Happen Pedagogy and Indigenous Early Learning and Childcare Framework
- Develop warm, respectful, collaborative relationships families and children 0-6 years, colleagues, community partners, and work with Knowledge Keeper
- Knowledge of Medicine Wheel teachings, First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Holistic Learning Model, evidence-based practices, program evaluation, land-based learning programs, considered an asset
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Reflect upon their practices in order to consider how their actions support children and families
- Require strong communication (oral and written), technology, and relationship building skills
- Have a deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion with regard to children, families, and colleagues.
- A self starter who takes initiative and seeks out ongoing professional development experiences in support of life-long learning
- Conduct themselves in accordance with the Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice described by the College of Early Childhood Educators

PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

- Research, build, and facilitate programming that engages parents, caregivers, and children in play-based learning opportunities, both in-person and virtually
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities by following the children's interests while also promoting healthy development
- Support families by developing parenting workshops, resources, and provide strategies regarding child development
- Responsible for reporting online statistical data (i.e. attendance logs, etc.)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging environment, in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
- On-going virtual communication with parents/guardians
- Participate in staff meetings and agency meetings as required
- Attends professional development opportunities and workshops
- Other duties as assigned
- Reports to the EarlyON Manager
