**Role Description**

This is a full-time, on-site role for an SQF Practitioner, located in London, ON. The SQF Practitioner will be responsible for maintaining and managing the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, including developing and implementing food safety plans, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with all SQF requirements. The practitioner will also be involved in educating staff on food safety, managing documentation, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in food safety practices.

**Responsibilities**:
1. SQF System Management
- Maintain and continuously improve the SQF Food Safety and Quality Management System.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all SQF Code elements applicable to The Fritter Shop’s operations.
- Coordinate and conduct internal audits, validation, and verification activities.
- Lead annual reviews and updates of the Food Safety Plan and associated documentation.

2. Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor compliance with CFIA, Health Canada, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety laws, labelling standards, and import/export requirements (including meat-containing SKUs).

3. Documentation and Records Control
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely updating of all food safety and quality documentation.
- Oversee traceability, lot coding, and recall readiness.
- Manage controlled documents and ensure proper employee access and training.

4. Employee Training & Support
- Train staff on GMPs, food safety protocols, allergen controls, and hygiene practices.
- Support production and QA teams in implementing procedures and ensuring daily compliance.

5. Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Lead root cause analysis and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented and documented.

6. Production Floor Oversight
- Perform routine food safety and quality checks during production.
- Act as a liaison between production, QA, and management to resolve food safety issues in real time.

7. Supplier and Ingredient Management
- Approve and monitor suppliers and raw materials to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Maintain up-to-date specifications and COAs for all ingredients and packaging materials.

8. Audit & Certification Readiness
- Prepare for and lead third-party SQF audits and customer audits.
- Ensure all pre-requisite programs (PRPs) are functioning as intended (sanitation, pest control, maintenance, etc.).

**Qualifications**
- Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program management and compliance
- Knowledge of food safety plans and conducting audits
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to educate and train staff on food safety practices
- Excellent problem-solving and continuous improvement skills
- Ability to work on-site in London, ON
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field is a required
- Previous experience in a bakery or food production environment is beneficial

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
