Glazing Esimator

The position will focus on preparing commercial building envelop projects estimation, bidding, managing projects and coordinating site and staff etc. In addition, the Estimator will be responsible for requesting price quotes and ordering parts and material from suppliers, as well as preparing product breakdowns for costing and all costs associated with tendered estimates.

Must be proficient in English and have excellent communication skills.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Some of but not all the job responsibilities are enlisted below.
- Review and understand Architectural drawings and Blueprints.
- Do take-offs, prepare and send and track reuest for quote (RFQs) to supplier, prepare estimates and bids for assigned projects and submit bids to clients honoring their submission timeline.
- Review scope of work, specifications, and addendums for prospective projects to provide lump sum tender prices.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Send and track work/purchase orders for all material procurement.
- Collaborate with staff and glazier team and provide needful guidance as required.
- Review and make changes to estimates as per post-tender addendums and answer queries from clients/contractors.
- Obtain and track subcontract bids and negotiate budgets.
- Track and maintenan job/project documents and keep their status up to date.
- Attend project meetings, client meetings, senior management and other meetings whenever required.
- Track job progress and changes to alert operations management to delays, issues etc.
- Process submittals and project approvals.
- Liaison with clients, build relationships with various stakeholders.
- Prepare shop drawings for projects as needed.
- Maintain record of and provide all documents that relates to internally or externally relates to the company/clients/contractos/suppliers/others.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Mandatory experience in Aluminum & Glass Glazing services with different framing systems for - Window, Doors, Curtain Wall, Storefront, Framing, Skylight, Canopy, Railing etc.
- Exceptional teamwork and communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Hands on experience with flow charts, spreadsheets, technical documents (blueprints/specs).
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications.
- Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably within larger construction projects.
- Solid organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft office, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, Estimating Software tools, and General Computer skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong/above average math skills.
- Great sales skills.
- Background in Building Science.
- Solid knowledge of AutoCAD and other Architectural and Drawing tools.
- Acquantance of of North American suppliers including OldCastle, Alumicor, Kawneer, US Aluminum etc.

**EDUCATION**:

- 1/2/3 + years Apprentice, (Red Seal) Journeyman.
- Graduate/Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in relevant field.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
This position requires the employee to work in office environment and site visits. Employee must be able to sit, stand for extended periods of time, possess a valid driver’s permit and the ability to work odd/ extra hours to accommodate project deadlines.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:
Position requires high levels of mental acuity, keyboarding skills, ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time, occasional exposure to inclement weather may be required.

Project estimating experience within $10,000 to $70,000,000 project scopes.

**SCHEDULE**:

- Monday to Friday, 8 hour a day shift or as mutually agreed with the employer.
- May need to work off-shift if required to meet critical project deadlines.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Commercial Glazing Estimation: 3+ years (required)
- Project Management: 1+ years (preferred)

**LICENSE/CERTIFICATION**:

- Drivers License (required)
- WCB (is plus)
- Health & Safety Certifications (is plus)

**WORK LOCATION**:

- In office, and on Client site as required.

Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $20.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
