Ausenco Sustainability is a +500 professionals’ group with a very active portfolio of projects, services and clients and is looking for a Procurement Lead to support the management of our equipment program, subcontractors and subconsultants in all our offices in Canada. This role is desirably based in one of our main office locations in Burnaby, Calgary or Burlington.

**About the role**

Lead the planning, implementation and supervision of our environmental equipment program and suppliers for the Sustainability business line across multiple offices and field sites in Canada. You will ensure the availability of supplies and suppliers for all field programs, and manage the tracking, maintenance, calibration and invoicing of equipment.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact to how the Sustainability business optimizes process and strategies for the equipment program.

**Main Duties**:

- Work closely with Directors, Project Managers, Field Staff and Coordinators to understand their equipment and supplier needs.
- Develop purchasing and contracting strategies and achieve overall best value supply of materials, equipment, and services in co-ordination with the Sustainability team.
- Administration of the procurement cycle processes through the effective control of the pre-qualification stage, bid evaluation process, recommendation of award and qualification of the service.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to develop and implement policies and procedures for equipment purchase, supply, usage, maintenance, calibration and inspection, repair, transportation, and storage across all our offices in Canada.
- Responsible for procurement and management of accredited laboratories.
- Develop asset management strategy for equipment to ensure optimal performance efficiency.
- Provide leadership to the warehouse staff or professionals in the equipment program.
- Improve lead time performance within procurement process ensuring scheduled deliverables are received, setting up proper inventory and logistics management tool, optimizing costs related to transport, maintenance, and acquisition of equipment’s.
- Develop and maintain relationships with various internal and external stakeholders to address maintenance problems, inventory discrepancies, services deficiencies, etc.
- Prepares operating budget, costing structure and monitors approved expenditures.
- Participates in the development of the annual overall Canadian operating budget. Provides input in the development of the business plan, including identifying equipment, materials and suppliers needs.
- Assists in the development and delivery of operational metrics and key performance indicators required to measure performance and recommends go-forward strategy to address performance gaps.
- Keeps up to date with the latest innovations for field equipment.
- Source and support secure business relationships/contracts with suppliers for rentals where equipment cannot be purchased, or specialized equipment is necessary.

**About you**:

- Degree or diploma level qualification in relevant field is desirable and/or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of procurement experience, desirably in environmental consulting or for field supplies
- Strong leadership skills with excellent attention to detail, time management, communication and organizational skills.
- Advanced working knowledge of supply chain concepts such as store management, inventory deployment, maintenance, repair, planning, optimization and logistics.
- Proven experience in establishing an inspection and calibration program according to recognized standards, Regulatory requirements and manufacturer’s instructions.
- Solid knowledge of safety regulations, protocols and standards in warehouse and site settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage internal customer and external supplier relationships.
- Exceptional negotiating and networking skills.
- Ability to prioritize and allocate resources effectively.
- Understand and interpret technical equipment.
- Problem Solving, Process Analysis, Cost Analysis skills.
- Experience with automation systems for purchasing and expediting, some experience with ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office suite including excel skills.
