POSITION OVERVIEW

The Corporate Strategy Advisor will work across the organization to help develop, communicate and enable BDC’s corporate strategy. In collaboration with their colleagues, thery will be instrumental in the development of the annual strategic retreats. They will also participate in market research and analysis that will influence the institution’s future performance.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET

Support the strategic direction:
- Monitor industry changes, forecasting trends, predicting patterns, and stay ahead of the financial services market.- Conduct market analyses on areas of interest to BDC.- Leverage insights to define, recommend and/or co-create strategic approaches for internal stakeholders.Support the strategic offsites planning:
- Create material, analysis, pre-reads and other documents to help contextualize the market dynamics for senior management and board members.- Source and coordinate the content from contributors across the organization and create effective visuals to convey information in digestible, clear manner.- Support and manage the project planning, scheduling, coordinating of internal and external resources, and communicating with stakeholders.

Support on special projects:
- Conduct analysis of innovative ideas, business models, technologies and financial services market changes which could have an impact on the business strategy.- Work with the team to establish future-facing insights, implications, and recommendations.- Support business unit planning by creating Excel and PowerPoint templates, collecting and summarizing information with the use of visualization tools such as Power BI.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR- Bachelor’s degree. A graduate degree would be an asset- Three to five years of relevant experience in strategy development support, strategy enablement, and/or any other combination of experience deemed relevant- Excellent oral and written communication skills, in both official languages (French and English)- Experience in a consulting firm- Solid strategic thinking with a pragmatic approach- Good quantitative, financial and data analysis- Excellent interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to work collaboratively with/and coordinate internal and external stakeholders- Skills in storytelling, visual presentation of information, designing presentation materials- Ability to develop and structure complex strategic planning documents- Ability to gather relevant information, do market research, and produce summaries- Ability to work in a team and under pressure to meet tight and often conflicting deadlines- Strong ability and knowledge of the MS Suite (in particular, Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI).
