**Overview**
SRC has an opening for a Junior Building Operator to join the Facilities & Security team to support the general maintenance of SRC facilities. This is a full-time position with some on-call and emergency out-of-office hours duties.
**Accountabilities**
- Perform general building maintenance and trouble shoot issues with facilities related items such as doors, windows and locks
- Mount, hang and secure objects on walls as needed (e.g., shelves, picture frames and fixtures)
- Assemble and install furniture, including desks, chairs and other office equipment
- Assist with seasonal groundskeeping tasks
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are safely stored
- Assist in setup and breakdown of SRC spaces for meetings and events
- Monitor and report any larger maintenance needs to senior team members and managers
- Participate as a member of SRC’s emergency management team and assist the Health, Safety and Risk team with OH&S activities
**Qualifications**
- Experience completing basic building maintenance tasks, repairs and assembly
- Construction trade certificate or apprenticeship experience is an asset
- Building Operator certification(s) preferred
- Valid Class 5 drivers licence
- Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
**Skills**
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking initiative to complete tasks with mínimal supervision
- Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of how to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Effective time management and organizational skills
