We are looking for a reliable tutor to assist a 5th grade student in-person struggling with Math. The student resides in Toronto in the vicinity of Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue requiring additional help once a week for an hour, starting as soon as possible

The tutor will work directly with the student in person on a one-on-one basis, providing the help they need.

**Tutor Duties and Responsibilities**
- Discuss what problem the students need help with
- Explain and teach the student in an easy-to-understand way
- Provide encouragement and positive motivation
- May have to prepare materials specific to upcoming assignments or test
- Prepare the student for tests
- Collaborate with parents and teachers to evaluate student needs
- Review their work or assignment prior to the lesson you teach
- Send in the student’s progress report at the end of each month.
- Send in the hours you tutored the student

**Tutor Requirements and Qualifications**
- High school diploma or higher
- Experience working with school aged children
- Able to work after school hours
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Have a high level of patience,
- Have an understanding and make the lesson a positive experience
- Able to keep the lesson enjoyable and engaging
- Build rapport with the student
- Agree to have an 18 or older adult present when tutoring in person
- Arrive on time that is scheduled
- Preferably have access to a car or reside near the area where the student is located and use public transit

**Job Type**: Freelance

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
