**Supply Early Childhood Assistant (ECA), LINC**

**Position Title**: Supply Instructor, LINC

**Reporting to**: Child Care Supervisor

**Working Hours**:This is an on-call position. 6 hours/day, Monday to Thursday

**Hourly rate**: $22

**Location**: 489 Queen Street East, Unit 100, Toronto ON M5A 1V1

**ABOUT US**

The Newcomer Women’s Services Toronto (NEW) is an award winning not-for-profit charity organization that was founded by a group of Latin American refugees in 1983 with a vision of strong women building strong communities. A multi-service agency with operations in two Toronto locations serving 800+ Immigrants and Refugees annually. With almost 40 years of operations, NEW has been providing settlement, employment, youth programs and services, as well as English language training for newcomers and immigrants. NEW also delivers special programs focused on immigrant women empowerment, leadership and skills development, and mentorship and career advancement for immigrant and refugee women.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
- Implement daily activities that support and promote the development of children
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toileting
- Deliver activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing craft materials as required
- Prepare and serve snacks
- Arrange rooms and furniture upon activities schedule
- Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toileting
- Observe children for signs of learning disabilities or emotional problems and take appropriate action such as communicate with supervisor
- Maintain day-care equipment and assist in housekeeping duties

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Completion of secondary school may be required
- Completion of an early childhood education assistant (ECA) certificate program required
- Experience of working in the childcare sector is required
- Valid First Aids/CPR certificate
- Valid health assessment including immunization and proof of negative Tuberculosis test result
- Valid non-criminal reference checking required (Vulnerable sector screening)
