RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Coordinate and lead archaeological field programs.
- Oversee field studies and manage subcontractors, lead field reconnaissance, field surveys, and excavation for archaeological studies.
- Conduct research and writing for archaeological and cultural heritage assessments.
- Perform artifact analysis and cataloguing.
- Provide technical consulting skills to support the growth of ERM’s business and client base in the area of archaeology and cultural heritage, specifically in Western Canada.
- Interact with other ERM service areas to share multi-disciplinary resources and best practices across the country.
- Represent ERM through communications and at meetings with provincial/territorial and federal agencies.
- Preparing reports to meet client and regulatory needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology or related field (with a focus in archaeology); master’s degree preferred. Or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
- Demonstrated business development abilities.
- Ability to work within a team as well as independently.
- Travel will be required.
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.

For the Consultant, Archaeologist, Field Director position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $69,559 - $80,000 (CAD). An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed terM/Flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).

We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and any other benefits to eligible employees. (Casual employees and regular employees scheduled under 20 hours a week are not benefits eligible).
