The appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer. The successful applicant will primarily provide instruction to and oversight of students within the DMD curriculum focusing on clinical teaching, patient treatment and student clinical practice management. They will support and mentor 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year dental students as they experience the bulk of their clinical education in the UBC Integrated General Practice (IGP) clinic and affiliated Community/Hospital clinical settings. This will be done in collaboration with the following individuals: Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs, Associate Dean/Director of DMD Curriculum, and other DMD Module Coordinators.

In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to participate in the academic life and teach/supervise learners in the Faculty of Dentistry. They will be expected to be an innovative clinical teacher who will integrate technologies and new approaches to learning into our curriculum. The successful individual should possess exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, be able to work effectively and contribute within a team environment, and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Preference will be given to an individual with current and active experience in instructing, coaching and mentoring students in a clinical setting and those that operate from a solid understanding of patient care and dental practice.
