**Scope of the Position**

The Manager, Supply Chain will be responsible for all matters relating to the company's development and implementation of supply chain strategies to support the firm's growth goals. The individual will be responsible for supply chain processes, infrastructure and enablers and will drive to develop capabilities and initiatives that will enhance supply chain performance over a multi-year horizon.

The Manager, Supply Chain will lead management routines to monitor and enhance core supply chain performance, including delivering against product and service level agreements and cost objectives. The individual will hold accountability for financial, service, and quality metrics in the supply chain.

Reporting to the VP Operations, the Manager, Supply Chain will be responsible for ensuring that the organization's manufacturing strategy and execution capabilities are aligned with the company’s strategy of growing our deliveries of advanced innovative products and solutions to our customers.

**Primary Responsibilities**

Experience in supply chain management, materials management, and contracts administration. You will be responsible for the overall procurement strategy for the company. In addition, you will be identifying and evolving best practices and transforming the team from one that is focused on buying equipment and materials to one that is focused on all aspects of material management, traffic, and logistics, buying, negotiating, contract formation, contract administration and closure.
- Develop and maintain best practices, processes, and procedures for the supply chain management practice.
- Plan, lead and execute strategies on large projects.
- Drive cost savings through continuous improvement processes.
- Develop and maintain positive, productive, proactive relationships with a wide variety of suppliers, clients, and internal customers.
- Champion the group's interests to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure that organizational capacity is in place by which to deliver on plans.
- Provide ongoing direction, performance management and developmental support to the team. Build world-class capabilities. Focus the team to accelerate and drive the practice.
- Ensure that the Supply Chain Management practice is fully aligned with the objectives and direction of the broader company.
- Align the local culture, values, metrics, and governance of the supply chain management practice to those of the overall organization.
- Report regularly and proactively to management on results and plans going forward.
- Remaining abreast of the industry, competitors, and trends with a view to ensuring that the firm's services best align to market needs.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes in a low volume/high mix environment, establish policies and practices in the areas of planning, supply chain, manufacturing/assembly, test, materials usage, shipping and receiving, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, and performance metrics/measure
- Make recommendations to improve each, focusing initially on benchmarking against best practises.
- Instil ‘best practices’ culture of excellence.
- Evaluate staff related processes and procedures, including work rules, position descriptions, responsibilities, training etc. with a view to both optimizing productivity and enhancing employee relations.
- Gain alignment with needs of the business units and technology development groups
- Manage vendors to ensure that production and financial goals are achieved.
- Ensure that operations capabilities are scalable to meet future growth projections for the business.
- Ensure that the manufacturing operations group has a clear, well-conceived roadmap for growth.
- Ensure that operations are compliant with all provincial and national regulatory standards pertaining to health and safety, quality, and labor management.
