**Full-time term**
Up to 7 hours per day including:
Mondays 5-7 PM, Tuesdays 3-5 PM, Wednesdays and Thursdays 3-8 PM,
Plus, additional flexible planning time as needed
Term effective September 8/25 to May 22/26
**Job Summary**:
In partnership with Manitoba Justice, the River East Transcona School Division (RETSD) provides youth programming that includes structured programming, effective supervision, and skill-building activities. Under the supervision of the Manager of Community Initiatives, the Lighthouse Coordinator will prepare and implement a variety of activities or projects for youth in grades 6 to 8.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Facilitate onsite youth programs offered through Lighthouse
- Facilitate educational games and skill building activities.
- Prepare age-appropriate art experiences for youth
- Communication with and support of parents in the RETSD community
- Prepare program materials and resources for the various locations
- Provide positive role-modeling behaviour for youth
- Facilitate appropriate communication among youth
- Plan and supervise a variety of activities from sports to art
- Model suitable conflict resolution
- Supervise and monitor youth
- Work cooperatively with other staff in planning and carrying out activities
- Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with youth and volunteers
- Display youth advocacy perspective as needed at community meetings
- Must be organized, have experience with working with youth, keeping stats, reporting and program planning, scheduling staff at sites
- Participate in professional learning, training, and staff meetings
**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:
- Qualifications_
- Valid First Aid/ CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention would be an asset, but not required
- Valid driver’s license
- Access to laptop/device with a camera
- Resident/knowledge of the community areas of the River East Transcona School Division
- Comfortable working with the Microsoft Office Suite and Teams app
- Must enjoy working with parents and youth in groups
- Group facilitation training is an asset
- Available to work early evenings and possible weekends for special events
- Upon hire, external applicants must supply a Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Search, and a cleared Child Abuse Registry Check, as conditions of employment.

Pay: $17.18-$18.37 per hour
