Environmental Services Manager Full Time

On a daily basis, you will be responsible for tasks such as:
- Maintenance of the home including, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, drywall, etc.
- Supervising third party contractors to ensure work meets our requirements and standards
- Managing the departmental budgets and inventory, including purchasing of supplies and equipment
- Maintaining policies and procedures within the department, and leading new initiatives and projects
- All aspects of quality control of services and products provided/ produced by departmental staff
- Management of the departmental safety program including preventative maintenance schedules
- Maintaining records, statistics, and reports in accordance with internal and external policies and guidelines
- Managing the laundry, housekeeping and facilities of our home, including all aspects of hiring, performance management and scheduling of these team members
- Other duties as required or assigned
- Environmental Services Certificate in a recognized program, or ability to enroll within 3 months of hire
- 2+ years management experience in long-term care setting in a similar role would be considered an asset
- Experience managing employees in a unionized environment
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Long Term Care Homes and Retirement Homes Act is an asset
- Demonstrated experience with building maintenance and upkeep
- Excellent interpersonal, project and time management and communication skills
- A can-do, roll up your sleeves kind of attitude
